Standard Insurance
All Rent a Dent vehicles have insurance cover which is included in the rate quoted. This is referred to as our Standard Insurance Cover. All pricing includes GST (NZ Goods and Services Tax).

Provided the "Rental Terms and Conditions" and use of the vehicle is complied with by the hirer (and the listed drivers) the standard Insurance excess applies to all drivers.

Drivers under the age of 25 years have a higher excess applied on all vehicles.

~ Drivers 21-25 years: Additional $500.00.

~ Drivers under 21 years: Additional $1000.00.

Licence criteria.
All drivers to have held a full licence for a minimum of 3yrs
 

Insurance Excess Charges

The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1400.00.

Cars and Station wagons: The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1400.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1900.00.

All Wheel Drive (AWD) : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $1900.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $2400.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater less than 5 years old: The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $2800.00.

Trucks and 4x4 vehicles: The Standard Insurance Excess for 25 years and over: $2800.00.

CDR (Collision Damage Reduction)

C.D.R can be purchased to reduce the Standard Insurance Excess for drivers 25 yrs of age and over.

Cars and Station wagons: CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $500.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $250.00.

People Mover 6-8 seater (MPV) : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $900.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $450.00.

All Wheel Drive (AWD) : CDR can be purchased for $10.00 per day to reduce the excess to $900.00 or for $15.00 per day to reduce the excess to $450.00.

Minibus 10 - 12 seater : CDR can be purchased for $20.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1200.00 or for $25.00 per day to reduce the excess to $600.00.

 Minibus 10 - 12 seater less than 5 years old: CDR can be purchased for $30.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1200.00 or for $35.00 per day to reduce the excess to $600.00.

Trucks and 4x4 vehicles: CDR can be purchased for $30.00 per day to reduce the excess to $1200.00 or for $35.00 per day to reduce the excess to $600.00.

In the event of an accident, a claim form must be completed by the hirer (or the listed additional driver) and handed in to the Rent a Dent branch concerned.

Glass Excess

The excess for all breakages of glass in a vehicle including windscreens, headlights and all windows is $500.00.
